Polyps in the joint

Has anyone ever heard of having polyps in the joint? Maddie has been limping badly on her left front leg. We've tried resting her and giving metacam along with tremadal and neither seem to help much. I think the tremadal helps her sleep and helps with the pain, but she still limps.
She had x-rays last week and they were sent to the orthorpedic surgeon. I'm waiting to get an appt. with him, but according to my vets assistant, the x-rays showed polyps in her joint. I've never heard of that before.
I'm hoping surgery isn't in her future. She's almost 10, and it worries me that she may need surgery to correct whatever this is.

Poor girl! I've never heard of that but there's always a first time. I hope you get some good news at your appt.
