Architectural detail. Often when I travel I am taken by beautiful details on buildings or interesting windows and doors. I have a few to post but must do them separately or my iPad erases my post.

Those are great! I love the position of the sun and how diffuse the light is on the temple and I like those weathered boards and perspective on the church.

When I took the photo of the temple I made sure the sun was partially hidden behind a beam. I metered on the sky because I didn't want it blown out and I knew it would make the Silhouette I wanted. I also shot one stop down.

The church has not been used for over 150 years. Family members of the original members formed a group to keep the church from ruin. It has no water or electric. One Sunday a year the church is open for service and a pot luck meal afterwards. In this photo the boards were scraped to be painted. I purposely went to take the photo at that time so I could get the weathered look. I also got many inside shots. It is an amazing original building. Right down to the out houses! When you go inside you feel like you stepped back in time!

the street in Italy, I have a shot of the same place. I'll have to look it up!
Its a quintessential Tuscan street shot but I like it anyway. The Vatican ceiling not the best photo but the detail blows me away. Both photos are taken with a little point and shoot.

Not for judging but perspective on the Vatican ceiling.

It was a tough call to make. There are elements in each photo that I really like so kudos to all the photographers who submitted a photo.

The winning photo is r taft's post office clock tower! The contrast of the clear and brilliant blue sky against the red brick and green copper roof really stands out. It serves to highlight the interesting shape of the tower and all the details of the mouldings used. Congratulations on a beautiful shot. You're up next.
