Photo Challenge #208: Boats and Silhouettes

I could not decide between either topic so... we'll go with both. :) Silhouettes were done a long time ago, so I thought we could probably revisit them.

I'm looking for pictures of boats.. any kind..and silhouettes. The silhouettes can be of boats or any other subject matter.

**** Edited to add: Definition of Silhouette Via Wikipedia
A silhouette is the image of a person, an object or scene consisting of the outline and a featureless interior, with the silhouetted object usually being black. Traditionally, a silhouette is a form of artwork, the term originating in the 18th century and applied to portraits or other pictorial representations cut from thin black card.[1] Silhouette images may be created in any artistic media, but the tradition of cutting portraits from black card has continued into the 21st century.
From its original graphic meaning, the term "silhouette" has been extended to describe the sight or representation of a person, object or scene that is backlit, and appears dark against a lighter background. Anything that appears this way, for example, a figure standing backlit in a doorway, may be described as "in silhouette". Because a silhouette emphasises the outline, the word has also been used in the fields of fashion and fitness to describe the shape of a person's body or the shape created by wearing clothing of a particular style or period.

Judging will be next Thursday evening, August 25th.

Here's my first entry - New Zealand near Mount Cook - can you see the boat? :) It may seem insignificant, but I was super stoked to get this pic with the boat - gives the photo scale - that boat had about 30 people in it, it was a tour boat - that gives you a much better idea just how big those icebergs are, not to mention the mountain!

Oh, wow, that is just amazing!

Here are my two entries:

Boat #1 called "Polish lifeguards in Estonia" (taken during the Estonian waterwork camp, it's the Polish newf lifeguard section's super-boat, they patrol the beaches in northern Poland)

Boat #2 called "Why oh why did I have to promise to come to Finland AGAIN" (taken on the Saturday at our waterwork camp, my brother is behind the boat keeping it up for Jan)

- not an entry -

Boat #3 called "Christina will kill me if she finds out I posted this" (taken on the Saturday midday lunchbreak at our waterwork camp, Christina was resting on the land boat - strictly for land use, an old Russian army rubber boat)

This was taken last year at the Tall Ships Chicago. It's the HMS Bounty built in 1960 for the 1962 movie, Mutiny on the Bounty and also part of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest

The Bounty was built in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Had lunch there today when I was there picking up some lawn furniture. Great pictures.
