Petfinder Newfs

I was checking out the Petfinder website and there are several PB Newfs listed. Seems to be more and more showing up on the list lately. I will try and let the area newf rescues aware, if they are not already.

It just breaks my heart to see them all..makes me wish I could take them all in!

There is a Newf Rescue on Petfinder, Autumn Acres, who you've probably noticed posts from on this site under the Topic: Rescue; Perhaps thats where you're seeing the Newfs? I got my Lolly-pup from there. Also, a few others have taken in Fosters.
We go all the way for these Newf Kids, don't we

Sorry it is Pure Bred Newfs..I did seen Autumn Acres, but saw a few more listed with other various rescues.

It just breaks my heart to see them. I have sent to area Newf Rescues to see if they were aware..it just seems as though there are more and more going in to rescue lately.

And, I think a lot of the ones listed as mixes are actually PB newfs of another kind--poorly bred---but still full blooded newfs. My heart breaks for all of them.

Chance (the Newf) and Lucy (the Toller misrepresented as a Golden) were on Petfinder.

Chance is also a poorly bred Newf...as is our Addie Mae (who was NOT on Petfinder). They have some things in common...like short tails. It's odd. I know Addie is from the Hunte Corporation/Puppy Mill...her owner gave us her papers, but I don't know where he came from.

These two are sooooo sweet.

On the up side... It's great to know there is a resource as long armed as the internet to give these lost angels a second chance for a life filled with love. It was just a fluke, my finding Lolly on the Net; Although I had been researching Breeders and Newf Standards, I never expected my pup to come from this source. Now I can't imagine my beloved pup anywhere else, but here, with me; I love him so! Without the internet I never would have stumbled across him...or this great group for that matter

I have been approved to foster/adopt a rescue...am just waiting to pick one up It is wonderful that these furkids are able to find loving homes via the 'net.
They are quite special, one and all...

I found Sundance on Petfinder. He had a microchip from Missouri that was never registered, so he is probably a puppy mill boy who was purchased from one of the pet shops near where I got him in PA. We love the big goof and I searched and searched Petfinder before I found him 10 hours from where I live. Petfinder is an amazing resource for shelters and adopters.

There is a Newf on Petfinder that I would love to adopt. He is a Hurricane Katrina survivor and he's been in rescue for a year.
I would love to adopt him RIGHT NOW, but as it is, legally, we have too many dogs with our 3. In our community, we are limited to two dogs. Thank goodness, we have awesome neighbors. So until we get our house in the country, I can't even look at rescue. :(

I am limited to two dogs too - I have three dogs, but I really count the chihuahua as 1/4 dog. :D
My husband and I have already decided, that our next dog when we move, which won't be for a while is definately going to be either a Newfie rescue or another dane rescue. But a rescue for sure. I love having the puppies, but there are just so many that need help. Both my other two dogs are rescues.

I wrote them about that fellow last week or before and she said he'd been adopted. Strange his picture is still up.

I sent in a query to Autumn Acres on the 19th about one of the dogs they have listed, but haven't heard back from them.

I noticed a "Lolly" mentioned--so Anjie, you are also fostering a Landseer for them too I see from the web site? I saw Lolly's picture on their page for rescued Newfs.

[Edited to say: I sent them a full adoption form, not just an e-mail query. They have a girl named "Star" listed. I took a fancy to this girl's face and the description of her happy, cheery personality--she might fit in well with Abby who also loves people and other dogs and kids etc. I saw her listing last week but didn't write because they were in Missouri. Then I saw that a couple of other people in Ontario had adopted dogs from them, so I took a chance and asked.]

Judy, I am so relieved to hear he was adopted. thanks for checking. When I looked for Byron this time, I didn't see him and I have been checking on him.

I agree with Anita, many of the dogs listed on there as mixes are definitely purebreds. Some are shaved down as well, they probably came in with severely matted coats.

Oh my gosh, Star is beautiful, fingers crossed, I hope it all works out!

Isn't she? I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but I feel I've made the commitment in my mind by filling out the form at least. I had a good feeling about Star which was why I wrote. You never know!

;) I will let the Universe roll on and the right thing will happen with the right dog at the right time.

[Edited to say: I think Star has had some shaving done on her legs. You can tell she needs some stripping too. BUT look at that smiley face, eh?]

It's so funny, I check the Autumn Acres site every morning when I come into work. I LOVE Star, she is so cute and I want to play with her! Lilly is my favorite, she is exactly two months to the day older then my Newf mix rescue tinkerbell. they would have great fun playing in the my huge backyard. Oh I wish I wish.

That's quite a coincidence Tinks MOM....Lilly is my Favorite too...lol

She's a GREAT dog! Loves the water, other animals, and SOOOOOO LOVING

I have connections, if you want her..lol.

Yup... you guessed it.. I just couldn't resist helping out another Beloved Newf
I haven't posted pics, cause I am moving and (I think) I must have packed my USB Cable to unload my camera :( I've gone to our local Wal-mart, but they don't have one (we live in the sticks) so I have to wait until I get out to the mall to get one.
