The Regional NCA Club in Michigan is no longer doing Newf Rescue, so you should contact the NCA's National Rescue Coordinator, Mary Price. She has volunteers in Michigan whom she can call upon.

Mary can be reached at (608) 437-4553 or mlprice@mhtc.net .

Newfondly,

Peter

Hm, trying to interpret their posting about the big guy....

"This big boy has lots of energy!" >> Please someone take him off our hands!!

"Would need a home to give him lots of daily exercise." >> And a REEEEALLLY big yard too.

"He likes to jump up on you as his way of playing so would not do well in a household with small children he could bowl over. " >> But we figure it's fine if he bowls over adults.

"Would benefit from obedience class since he seems to be a fast learner." >> I.E., he has never been trained!

In all seriousness, this big guy will be snapped up, I'm sure. He is too handsome! And he can be adopted out of state! Remember, the Sokol Express can be activated at any time.....

We gotta keep an eye on this guys. I'm thinkin Robyn is not an option this time. Can't imagine why, except Jim would divorce her and likely go join a circus.

Looks like 3+ hours. But take a look at the map: there is a ferry that runs across Lake Michigan, so Newfie friends in Milwaukee and Chicago are not too far away, either....

(bump) This sweet fellow is in western Michigan, folks....close to Indiana and Illinois, too:

Notes: This big boy has lots of energy! Would need a home to give him lots of daily exercise. He likes to jump up on you as his way of playing so would not do well in a household with small children he could bowl over. Would benefit from obediance class since he seems to be a fast learner. We are open to the public to view the shelter dogs and fill out applications on Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00 and Saturdays from 11:00-1:30. Once your application is approved, the adoption fee is a $125.00 prepaid receipt from the vet of your choice towards the cost of altering the dog and a $10.00 microchip fee. These dogs are picked up as strays. Nothing is known about their background but we will tell you as much as we know about their time spent with us. Please do not call Vector Control to inquire about adoptions. If you would like more info on this pet please e-mail doggiebarb@verizon.net and I will give you as much info as I can. All breed ID's, ages and size dogs will reach as adults are estimates and are not guarentees. Thank You for your interest in a pet in need of a home. ****NOTE**** We do NOT know how this dog is with cats, there are no cats housed at this shelter.

Yes, we adopt out of state providing you have an approved application. In order to be approved for out of state adoptions you MUST provide a vet reference and own your own home. We do NOT ship pets and require all family members as well as other family dogs to meet the new pet. We do not adopt outside of the US. All other info as to hours and directions are on our web page which can be reached by clicking the link below

I sent an email. We'll see.

I did casually mention something to Cindy about it when she got home from work today. One of those ... "Oh, by the way honey ...." deals.

She then told me about a dream she had the night before last. I came home with two horses for her(she was raised with horses and would LOVE to have another). Since we didn't have a fenced corral, I brought them in the house, and used the kiddie gate to keep them in the kitchen.
Apparently everything was fine until one of them puked all over everything .......
Then she woke up ......

Definitely confusing horses with Newfs.....wakes up, still half a sleep...big black dog the size of a pony, easy enough to remember "horse" instead.
