Pacific Northwest Water Test Weekend

Took these 2 photos last August during our water test. They are of 18 month old Cosi doing her boat jumping exercises in the senior division. Cosi is a very enthusiastic newf with lots of energy which is evident in the photos. In the second photo, the judge ruled that Cosi hit the water before the paddle...What a tough one to call!

Great photos. Love that last one, she looks like she is doing some sort of handstand on the water. :D

I was thinking more like ballet...she's doing an arabesque.....Very cool picture. And it would be a tough call.

With NCA working events such as water and draft, the exercises are on a pass/fail basis. The only so called "wiggle room" they give you is during a draft test where you may have 2 "bumps", meaning your wheels can lightly touch an object in the manuvering course. Sometimes if there is outside interference the judge may allow you to do a complete exercise over.

P.S. I loved your working dog photos. They are so hard to get just right. I think that they should be captioned "Air Newf"!!!

Crocknewf,
That was our first Newf event for the seattle newf club. Of coarse Boagie was just 3 months old but watching it was amazing.
Did your dogs pass? As I recall there were not many that did.

The water test was in Woodland, WA so Dogger, you may not have seen this one. I think we had about 6 dogs that passed. Yep, it's true, if you fail any part of any exercise, you fail the exercise thus no title. Kind of a bummer, but something to really work for. Herb fortunately passed his junior division test and the draft test. I didn't enter him last year in the senior division because there are a couple of things we still need to work on (boat jumping, taking a line out to the boat and taking a life ring out to drowning victim.) He should be ready this year I hope!
