Greg,

I usually find your posts witty, entertaining and creative.

This is not funny at all. I'm sure you didn't mean to offend or have any ill-spirited intentions, but before some people log in who DO get deeply offended, you might want to retract the comment and ask for the post to be locked.

I can see this getting really out of hand.

Keep posting your witty, entertaining and creative stuff!

An April Fools joke is supposed to make you go "grrr" because you've been had. Judging by the responses it seems to have had the desired effect.

Something to keep in mind those of you who are clamoring for an OT forum.

Greg

I like an Aprils Fool joke as much as everybody else. But its not really a good idea to make "any" kind of joke anytime, about the War. People have many diffrent veiws about the war, but one thing I think we all agree on is the safety of all the men and women over there. And all the men, women and children dying.. some how you really can't find a joke in that, even on Aprils Fool Day :(

Certainly a joke can be made of it. It obviously isn’t a roll on the floor until your sides hurt type of joke but more wry humor given the day that it is. What’s funny is the reaction that you had when you first read it. The title is within the realm of possibility (because we DO have snake eaters on the ground in Baghdad and they are on the hunt) so you got your hopes momentarily up that it was true (as opposed to a “US nukes Baghdad” thread title, which wouldn’t be really funny as thousands of innocents would now be dead), only to be slammed back to reality by those two little words – April Fools. Hopefully by this stage in your life you would have learned to laugh at yourself when you realize that you had been had.

Thanks for the advice on the helmet Lynn, however I turned it in along with all of my other field gear when I got out of the Army five years ago after spending twelve in the National Guard. In fact my unit missed being activated and sent over to the First Gulf War by one day. So I know how to scoot around using cover and concealment ;) .

That's the saddest commentary on the youth of today that I've heard in a long time. :D

I guess it does show just how much we all wished it was so true and here's
to the thought that maybe someday very soon it won't just be an Aprils fool day posting!!!!!! ;)

You guys think that's bad? I heard on the radio today that a Wisconsin newspaper (Maybe the UW-Madison paper) tried to pull an April Fool's by publishing a story that Brett Favre was killed in a hunting accident - that'll get you tarred and feathered in Packerland!

Here's a good one...There are a couple of (formerly)local DJs who were fired from their DJ job in Boston because they said that the mayor had died. His wife heard it on the radio and everything. They were fired.

Actually dogger it is, it is just spelled with three l's instead of two.

The best one that I ever heard of (and due to possible statue of limitations issues can neither confirm nor deny my involvement
) was back in high school. My english teacher had this little MG convertable that she drove to school. 22 years ago (to the day actually :D ) her little car somehow wound up in the hallway of the high school.

Greg (and yes, it was hard removing the doors to the hallway and flipping the car on it's side so that we could carry it in :D )

(edited because my brain shut off after dinner hit my stomach  )

Well I have felt a little jaded ever since you 'critiqued' my drawing (learned a valuable lesson to not post art or poetry - being sentitive about both). But I did fall for that - hook, line and sinker on April 2nd. I think that would certainly be a taste of what a OT forum could possible be like.
