Turned out so colorful and interesting and possible long term great effects.
Oh Lord what a wild ride the PaddleFest was! We went right when it was ending because it was too sunny for Orka earlier. Still lots of kayaks canoes hybrids SUPs vendors and ppl there.
Instantly Orka was mobbed, recognized, endless photos and videos. Right away the Jackson Kayak designer/engineer insisted his crew make a commercial with him and Orka right on the spot! Many cameramen with all kinds of gear filmed it impromptu. They said commercial, Facebook, website, catalog, LOL I was happy about this because I'm incessantly searching for a boat big enough for Orka. This man designed the Jackson Big Tuna, a hybrid canoe / kayak. He paddled for quite a while with Orka in it, then I did. I didn't think it performed as well as Orka's tarpon kayak. The secondary stability wasn't there and it seemed flimsy. But the demand for a big dog boat is definitely out there, and I hope it satisfies a lot of big breed owners.
Orka was so calm about all the ppl who wanted to pose with him, kayak with him, etc. He is so flexible about many new situations. He absolutely adores kayaking and is very proud of his boat. In fact there were a few dogs running around and he led them to his boat, got on and showed off! He likes swimming in Vancouver Lake. It is an awesome place for waterwork training, but no dogs are allowed. I don't know how the ones today got away with it. No policemen; usually there are lots there.
Orka was instantly recognized by the kayaking community here. He just laps up the jubilation. It's quite hilarious watching his antics. Fortunately while on a boat he stays very calm; having a huge dog in a small boat can be a scary rocky experience.
It seems every time we go somewhere there is more of a commotion over this Newfy. I have trouble talking so it's a challenge. Today Lynn handled the ppl.
