Orange/Dark red tongue??

Sampson tongue all off a sudden is a very differnet call than its usual pink. Thought he was eating some of the clay in the yard but after dinner and his bowl of water it still looks very odd. Maybe a little paranoid but anythoughts??

Maybe some sort of dye from chewing a toy or something??

Could he have gotten his tongue stuck in anything??? I ask because the color you describe reminds me of Chai's tongue after the vet removed it from the ball it was stuck in. Is it swollen???

Ooo - how is his temperature/heart rate? The tongue changes color as it gets engorged with blood - which it does to help with body temperature.

temperature/heartrate was fine- seems to be acting normal (following me around, ignoring his sister) so i guess we'll wait see how he is in the AM...thanks
