Thank you Bettina, that is really valuable information.

What you have accomplished, you and your Newfs, is phenomenal. The time, training, bonding, conditioning, all superb meaty useful skills and so many grades higher than regular life.

Every time you post these accomplishments it is a beacon of realized potential and guidance to human & canine kind. It is pushing the boundaries of the imagination with concrete success and serves as a lamppost of what can and should be done.

Alarm bark is basically your speak-word. Just expect him to bark for a longer period of time before you praise/reward and he’ll learn to continue until you tell him to stop..
 Maybe now I know what Katy's bark is for.........I can redirect it and teach her alarm bark. She is the noisiest newfie have ever known. Always barking to let us know something is amiss. My others have always been so quiet :)

Thank you again everyone for all the congratulation: it is such a pleasure to own fabulous dogs that are always ready to work and try anything :)!

(I have had some connection problems after moving house, so don't worry if you don't hear from me via email, I'll try to get back to you as soon as I get it working again)
