Today Alex (husky mix)is once again playing with his best friend Arthur (newf mix)at the Rainbow Bridge. After alot of thought, talk, and deliberation we made what was the best choice for Alex, but damn hard for us. After consulting with the vet we were told we could put him on high doses of rimadyl a day and ease but not get rid of the pain, and possible get him a max of 6 mths in moderate instead of severe pain for him. I just couldnt do that to him, that would be keeping him for us not for him. His quality of life was not there any longer, he could barely get up or in and out of the house and struggled to find a comfortable position when laying down. I have been putting this off for a few months now and I just had to think of him first. So now he is pain free and romping outside in the sunshine once again with his best bud Arthur.
Please hug your pets and remember Alex for us.

I'm so sorry to hear about Alex, but you were very brave to do what you did. I'm sure he's having a ball playing with his friend at the Rainbow Bridge.

I'm sorry that you had to decide but I'm glad you made the decision you thought was best for your dog, not you. How hard that must be. He'll have a great time romping without pain. Hugs to you!

I am so sorry for your loss of Alex. The hardest thing we as pet owners ever have to do is what is best for the animals we love so much. I will say a prayer for Alex. Give my girls an extra kiss and keep you in my prayers and thoughts.

Oh, it's SOOOOO hard to face reality, at times. Making those decisions is never easy. You certainly have my sympathy.
Rest assured Alex is runnin' free, havin' fun.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I just hope I have that much courage if I have to make that decision for Moose.
The greatest love there is, is unselfish love and that is what you have.

So sorry to hear about Alex. That's one of the toughest decisions to make with an ailing furkid. I'm sure Arthur was there waiting for Alex at the Bridge and they're together again romping free in a place where he'll never be in pain again.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss but you have shown tremendous love to Alex by making this difficult decision. I'd like to believe our fur babies can feel our final act of love and pass on with nothing but warmth and love surrounding them. He can now frolic without any pain. Lots of warm thoughts and hugs are being sent your way.
