Not eating, what to feed?

Owen has been under the weather over the weekend. He's not eating, and just down in the dumps. He threw up after drinking water this morning, but has drank since then and is ok. I did get him to eat some scrambled eggs this morning (Thanks Gwynn!). I have some boiled chicken cooling off for him also. Owen has went off his food before, but that was over a year ago. Since we started feeding him EVO and raw, he's always eaten.

My question is...what bland foods can I feed him that have no grains in them? I suspect his skin problems come from grains, so I don't want to add insult to injury by feeding them to him. Pumpkin and yogurt have been suggested...anything else?

TIA

I went through recipes I have for when Clyde isn't keeping weight on (which is a constant struggle for us). This one appears to be grain free and Owen may like it (from http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/health/diet4.htm )

HEALTHY WEIGHT GAIN MIX

1 pint whole fat Cottage Cheese
1 lb turkey (or any other ground meat) burger (raw)
2-3 eggs - boiled in the shell for 30 seconds*
2 tablespoons Flax Seed or Olive oil
1 can sardines or tuna fish

It is full of protein, essential fatty acids and digestive enzymes.

*Boiling the eggs for 30 seconds denature the whites and leave the benefits of the yolks intact.

Hope that helps

Awwww....I'm sorry Owen isn't feeling well Kelly. Is it possible he's eaten something he shouldn't have?

I know you already know this, but if he keeps vomiting, it's time for the Vet.

Please keep us posted about our sweetie, Owen!!

As far at that recipe goes....do you put the egg shells in too??

He hasn't vomited since this morning. I'm thinking he only had about 4 treats, and possibly a couple of bites of his dinner last night. (HOw much he ate was coming from Kevin....I put the food up after he snubbed it, and he tried later...all I know is most of it was left) So, I'm thinking the water on an empty stomach didn't do anything for him.

So, right now I'm feeding him little bits until I can get to the store after Collin gets home from school. He's drinking, pee is normal, he pooed, wants to be outside, and right now is barking at something. I'll keep a close watch on him...if anything wierd is gonna happen, it'll be to Owen. :(

OH geez, I dont know Donna... I haven't tried this one, just saw that it was grain free....I'm guessing either way would work if you ground the shell?

Kelly, I hope Owen starts feeling better soon

Bailey will always eat eggshells. Stoli sometimes and Bucca never. They're a good source of calcium and the dog will only absorb what they need. Sometimes they come out exactly as they went in
. So either way would be fine.

Poor Owen. Have you tried giving a Pepcid or Pepso Bismol as he might just have an upset tummy? I hope he is feeling better soon!
