A perfect case of one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing. This is really scary though. Isn't this how epidemics start? I don't know if they're testing the kitten and I can't say for certain that no other human was in contact with these kittens as there were people feeding them.

A client of mine is a restired nurse and she's very upset about this and a little upset with me. She thinks I should want to know if the kitten has rabbies and that I should insist that they test. They have their protocol though and I'm guessing that if a human isn't involved in a bite or scratch from a possible rabid animal then it's not an issue to them.

I will call my vet today and ask him if they are testing the kitten.

At the risk of sounding "political" this is the way big govt agencies of ANY stripe, party, or country are. It's in the DNA and they can't help it. You must NOT count on them to do anything you or a small group can do for yourselves.
