no spay for Gypsy today

I did have the blood work done before the procedure and it showed that her platelets are low. Her clotting factor which should be around 11 seconds was around 18 seconds. She said that everything else was normal. I hated to but had to ask about cancer. She said that she didn't think so. She said that she may have a cyst on he ovary or may be coming into season early. I asked about her thyroid and will ask her to send it to Dr. Dodds. She is going to give her an injection of K3 and wants me to continue them for either a week or two (don't remember, was napping) then we will recheck her levels.
This is scary but hopefully no big deal and I'm very glad that I insisted on the blood work. I'm also glad that I was watching the receptionist filling out the paperwork because she was writing down to give her the boosters and rabies! I told her that I had discussed it with the Dr. and we were waiting until after the surgery.
I'm hoping that this is the feeling of her being more fragile that I've had...

Thanks, I'm going to get my hard-headed BABY girl now. Max is fussing and wants her back home too.

Her thyroid was a 1 on the test at the office. They generally use Amvet in New Jersey (I think) I emailed myself Dr. Dodds info before I left, so while I was there I forwarded that to her with the request to use this lab instead. She was in a procedure when I picked Gypsy up to she may call me back later.
She researched and said that the Vitamin K3 is absorbed better orally, so that is being compounded and will be ready tomorrow or Friday.
Should I have the titer done while they have her blood? I wonder if they would have enough blood to do that too.
My max $250 spay was $350 with no spay and not done yet. I don't care about the cost as long as my hard-headed baby girl is ok.

I hope you get this fixed easily. When we sent Kilrain's sample to the Dodd lab for testing I think it took about a week to get results. I vaguely remember it may have needed two tubes of blood for testing but I won't swear to it. You can ask your vet if they had enough left for testing.

Thanks, I really had the feeling that her thyroid was off since she is always starving. She has a beautiful soft glossy coat so I know that isn't an always symptom. I'm hoping the thyroid is the reason the other counts are off. She was very happy to be home, she went right to the pool and put both feet on the step and got a big drink (while blowing bubbles) then went right to bed. I guess she is exhausted because she has been snoring even though Max has been doing some silly howling.
