Tonight I went to dinner with my sister in a near by town and in the restaraunt are some home made crafty things and some key chains etc. Well on the bottom shelf, shoved in the back was a black dog figurine about 10 inchs tall. I pulled it out of the darkness expecting it to be a lab and low and behold...it was a newfy!!

It also turned out to be a candle. I instantly bought it as it is the first newfy thing I've found around here. He was a bit dusty but he is now cleaned up and sitting above me on my computer armoire and looking quite handsome!. Happy camper here .

Those are "bonus" days, when you find such a treasure!
My daughter works at a large (8 screens) theater, a gal came in with a working Newf. She had bad knees and he would help her walk. Bri (my daughter) said the dog had a coverlet on that said it was a "working dog" and not to love on it or approach it. Kinda neat.

That sounds like the candle my sons bought for me. If it is the same, it is a wonderful replica of a black newf. My boys bought it for me before I got Rory since they knew how much I wanted a newf but was not able to get a live one yet. It also came in brown and landseer in the store I got it. Of course it is too nice to burn as a candle!

I have the candle now and at one time had a Newf statue (by Sandcast??). I lost the statue in my divorce, but got to keep the real dog

. There is a store in the Minneapolis airport called Bow Wow (it might have just closed, or maybe I am thinking of the Museum Company store next to it that just closed..)that sold the Sandcast statues and similar items. Lots of Newfy things in stock or orderable.

You know you travel too much when you do the majority of your shopping in airports.

Yes, it was a truly newfy moment...my goofy girlfriend is a watermelon nut and I mean NNUUTT! She has her whole house and yard and her clothes decorated with watermelon stuff. I was just about as excited as she gets when she finds something wm that she doesn't have.It looks very close to being a statue..Lynn it probably is the same as yours. DH saw it and thought it was stone or ceramic. Sar, found it at a Mister Cinders restaraunt in Oshkosh.
