Newf-size Cooling Jacket

At our recent draft test , one of the dogs overheated, luckily someone had a cooling jacket..Can anyone recomend a cooling jacket that will fit a Newf?? Thanks

I have a 50 Degree exotherm cooling jacket for my Newf (as well as an exotherm cooling pad). I don't think 50 Degree is the company that makes them any longer though. If you google canine exotherm jacket it will probably come up.

I've just seen these advertised lately. Can you tell me how this works on a long-haired dog like a Newf? Summer is coming and Gracie is already having a harder time when the temp goes up.

I was looking into this and found the review below....Something to think about. Review from Amazon.com.


"This product works well in dry climates where the evaporation cooling can really shine. So, if you live in Arizona or Nevada, this is a great product. But, beware if you live somewhere like South Florida. With that kind of humidity, the water doesn't evaporate fast enough to cool the dog. The sun just warms the coat and turns it into a sauna suit."

Just thought it was worth mentioning. Guess the effectiveness of the suit depends on the circumstance. This review was for the "swamp cooler".

They are designed for working/military dogs. This is the sizing info. It seems like it would fit a lot of newfs.

Chest Girth: The circumference around the largest part of the dog's chest. This is the most critical measurement.
This part of the vest adjusts from 28" to 46". (Please heed the 28" limit)
Length: The ChillyDog is 9" long (extends 9” behind the front legs.

Hi cat's eyes phone her as she makes them to order now

All you basically do is soak in water wring out and fit.works amazingly well. Also if dog gets wet use as a towel

Well mine came and the length is brilliant but it's huge around the neck and belly,the strap that goes around the belly wraps around him twice :LMAO: but I was really surprised with how well he has took to it.
