As im biased Tane has developed into a awesome newf showing/doing all the newf traits except one. Although he loves the water he has never done the newfy thing of sit outside in the rain... untill this morning.
We dont have a gate on our front yard so i came up with the idea of parking the estate across the driveway to block off the entrance and it means Tane has the whole section now to play in. his latest discovery's is if i leave the boot open he thinks its his kennel and he will happily park his royal butt in there for hours and watch the world go by, he has also discovered if he sits right by the fence he will eventually get pats from passerbye's.
Back on topic ... as much as he loves the water he hates the rain, i was getting a bit worried as ive read and spoke to other owners about how much there pups love to sit out in the rain for hours, i didnt mind to much that he wouldnt as i was worried he would catch a cold ... but ive been assured this wont happen.... So this morning i let him out after breakfeast for his toilet and sniff around and had parked the car across the drive so he could go out the front. on a horrible day like today (its ment to be summer) he is out n back in a couple of minutes, but after a no show after 5mins i went looking for him and there he was proud (soaking) as punch sitting at the fence waiting for someone to walk by and pat him... newfness 98% complete.... Whats the other 2% you ask.... 1% = being a big brother to a human baby (4 weeks away) the other % having another newf to play/live with hmmmmm tomorrow if i had my way convincing kirsty a different matter altogether...... Sorry bout the ramble but youve probably guessed i like to give the full story in my posts.
oh and its been half n hour so far that he's been out there.....just as well mumma's having a sleep in
