Newest Water Rescue Dog!!

Last month, at the age of 6 months, Ben started his water rescue training. Nice and gentle to start with - getting used to wearing a harness and to having someone around him in the water.

Hopefully he'll follow in Amy's pawprints - she completed her training and when a lot younger saved a girl's life, bringing her in when she was caught by the tide.

Anyway ... she was so proud of her boy I knew she'd want me to post these pictures for you ..

Amy goes out with Ben and Joe (human) to show Ben it's not scary.

Time for a break ... Amy leads the race to the biscuit tin!

Now concentrate Ben - you're going to do it without Amy this time

Proud "Mom" looks on (she's not his real mom, but acts like she is)

I love you Joe, that was fun - can we do it again soon? (check out the tongue!)

Hope you liked them ... we all had great fun.

How great is that. Congrats. Looks like everybody had a great time to boot!! Wish we could do the same, but there isn't anything nearby.

Truman would like to know... the directions to the "Newfy's Arms." It must be the name of the local pub, the one where all the UK Newfs hang out.

We'd love to buy a round of Courage:beer: ...If our dollar will just hold out long enough.

Completely unrelated...but Sennen Cove can't be that far away (just north of Lands End).
Have you ever met Bilbo?

Congratulations to all in the water! And, what wonderful pictures.

Hi Thanks for your message. We're still looking for the Newfy Arms - but there are some great dog-friendly pubs around here!

Check out dog friendly pubs in Devon - we're so lucky!!! You will often find Amy greeting all her friends and acquaintances in our local, she can hear a packet of crisps being opened from 50 yards. And she's teaching Ben too.

We haven't met Bilbo yet, he was in Dartmouth for the Regatta, but Ben was only little and I didn't want to leave him all day. We're hoping to see him next summer, Ben wants his "pawtograph!"

Glad you liked the piccies.

Love Ellie

PS Devon Pride is much nicer than Courage!

We're on our way. Just got to get to Seattle, jump the British Airways bird and we'll be there in no time. I imagine Truman would really like the greater variety of crisp options. And, Amy sounds the perfect teacher. And all while actually being inside a pub...whew, that's heaven.

And, when you get Bilbo's pawtograph...Truman would really like one too.

Cheers,

Truman & Duncan

PS The Courage was for the name. Devon Pride it will be! :)

It looks like sooooo much fun. Are those ruins on the beach in the first and second shots? Very interesting.......

Ah....water training. I am so jealous. We are done for the season and anxiously awaiting next spring. Actually it doesn't look that warm where you are either but it sure looks like you all had some fun. Good luck with your youngster. It's always exciting to start fresh with a puppy.
