Need some opinions on bringing Baby home

Hi, I'm new here, my name is Su. I'm flying out Sunday to get my new Baby girl (as yet un-named). Question; if I pick her up Mon by noon, is it best to stay the nite in her new crate in a motel and get to know her, or is that just adding confusion about where home is? It seems overwhelming to go right to the airport and load her up for a Long flight in a strange crate in a strange place. Or is that just ripping off the bandage all at once? I could drive myself crazy over-thinking this.....so I'm hoping at least one of you might have some experience with this and some great advice. If it helps you to answer, she is coming from a shelter (not a rescue or home) where she has been for almost three weeks. I'm writing this right before I go to bed and need to make plane reservations tomorrow sometime, so if anyone has time, I'd sure appreciate some input. Thanks, and I'm glad to have found you guys. Su

If she's been in a shelter, she is accustomed to being locked in an area..I would probably get her home instead and get her started on her "new" life.

I'd also take her right home as well, then it's over. they are way more resilient than we give them credit for.
