I received a fb posting today about a 8mo-1yr old newfie. He is in Greenville Ohio at the Darke County Shelter, located at 5066 County Home Road, the # is 547-1645, it said to Please Act Quickly. How can I help find a newfie rescue to help, I am not near Ohio and so afraid for this creature. My name is Brigitte Baxter on fb, and can share his picture and info. Many many thanks.

Pm Jeannie on here. I'm pretty sure she has a working relationship with this shelter. I will try to find her on Facebook.

Just looked, she is actually in Greenville Ohio too.

Brigitte, are you a member of Newfs on the Net or the Newfoundland Dog Forum on FB?
Post on there and send a message to Jeannie on FB, her name is Jeannie Gabbard Grosch.

Hi Lori, I am a member on newfnet, not on fb. The fb post is from a animal rescue friend that is scared for the newfie at this Ohio shelter, I am very thankful to have you respond and help me. I did leave Jeannie a pm and hope she gets it.

Ok, I will copy and paste your posting here on to both of the groups on Facebook. Hopefully Jeannie will see one and see your pm.

Hum...the shelter usually contacts me anytime there is a newf there. I just pulled a female landseer a couple of weeks ago. I'll call the shelter as soon as they open to see if a newf is there. I looked at their website and it does not show a newf. There are some mixes that may resemble a newf but no newf in them.

Jeannie are you sure that is a lab collie mix and not newfie collie mix...i know loads of collie mixes here locally, very popular, and he seems too bulky. Are they guessing or know for sure.
If he was a Collie cross/lab anywhere near us we would be in there to get him out. Perfect assistance dog cross or if they fail there good sniffer dog mix.......

I know for sure because he was an owner turn in and the owners saw both parents as they were neighbors, according to the shelter director.
