Natural Remedies for Bad Breath???

My 5 month old Newf has terrible breath. Maybe is because she's teething, but I don't remember my 2-year old having "fish-breath" at any stage. Does anybody out there have any suggestions on how we can remedy this problem. All suggestions welcome.

Some of ours would have this when teething. Often it's the dried blood in the mouth that's causing the odor.

I think you just have to wait until the teeth come in.

Give her some frozen washrags to chew on. They really love the cold on their sore gums.

Is it too young to start them out with RAW marrow bones? And if you do, make sure you scoop out at least one good inch of the marrow on either side of the raw bone.

Why scoop out the marrow? Just curious....

Would love to give them bones, but my 2-year old actually manages to "eat" the bone. Don't want to risk injury so if they both can't have something, then neither one can have it. At least not when they're togther.

Nanook had it when teething too! The vet said it was definitely because the teeth were still coming in and I wasn't to worry.

Now he has fish breath, but it's because he's been chewing on *ocean chews* (dried stingray tails) *shudder*

I used to give Eloise a frozen wet towel to chew on. I don't know if it will help with fish breath, I don't really remember Eloise having that. But it will help with the sore gums.

I used to remove some of the marrow when Eloise was a baby also because the marrow is very rich and sometimes too much for a baby tummy!

Thanks all for your suggestions. We have tried rolling up and freezing a wet towel (small hand towel) but Misha quickly loses interest or it turns into a tug of war between Misha and Caera. Sort of like amyk's avatar!!! She does like ice cubes. And for whatever reason, her breath seems to have improved over the last few days. Go figure!!
