My first cinematography assignment

I didn't feel it was appropriate to post this in the video section because it has nothing to do with Sadie. As some may know I am attending Brooks Institute where the motto must be: There's no such thing as too many projects.... I remember what sleep used to be like. LOL

My only rules for this project were to create 50% new footage and keep it around 2 minutes.

Let me know what you hate or like about this short. While I claim to know a little bit about a camera, I know nothing about the video cameras and software I am now using for the school. Thanks

I really liked it - seems well composed, the editing seems smooth and seamless, the message and story is well told,... without being too heavy handed. Only thing that strikes me at all is that the doctor/nurse close ups are just a tiny bit too close.

Grabs you right away.... I was kinda lost after the flat line sound....maybe you could have shown an OCPD patient...(whatever the letters are) It is really great, and I don't want to criticize,,,,but the story really moved fast to the cemetary. I wondered what the Dr's were looking at.

Yep. I have just finished a revised edition that takes away the strange lights in the hallway and added more pictures. Should be uploaded in a few. Ron

Much better on the second one Ron, cause I was gonna mention that I actually remember being rolled down the hall with the lights like that, and I was alive and if you die on the table I'm not sure if you'd see the lights, (but I could be wrong-lol) I think I like the church scene better, it makes more sense! In my opinion, well done with the changes.

Please note, I have no clue but you asked for opinions.

Dawn, I am not sure if you see the mortuary lights when your dead either. I'll wait to find out. LOL Thanks

I'm very impressed! W/O sounding too critical, I too think the doctor's were too close up. I'm a big wimp when it comes to motion sickness, and the male doctor's scene was a bit jerky. I did have a near death experience and was on a gurney traveling towards a bright light. Only in my case, just as the light was about to consume me, I went into reverse falling at a high rate of speed. I loved the music!

I agree they are right in your face. This was a tough shot as I laid on a chase with a big soft light above. Any wider and you could see the edges of the softbox and see my garage. I think my brother and his girfriend did a great job playing the doctors.
