Must've brought the wrong dog home...

We went camping this weekend, and Ada did a great time. I wish we wouldn't have had to tie her most of the time, but she did great. She decided that Lake Superior was way too cold to get into, but it did make for good drinking water. She got to go on lots of walks.

But then we came home, and she turned into a complete pill. She hasn't been counter surfing in a while, but she did that several times today, even swiping a bagel I'd left out for my son. She's getting into everything, won't play with her toys, won't play outside, and when I wanted to take her for a walk, she kept turning around and heading home.

I hope this goes away soon. I know it's a big change of schedule going on a trip, but wow...didn't realize she would take it so hard.

I wonder what that's about? I know that whenever I board Mila and then come home, she's a total snot for the first few days. Like she got knocked in the head or something and has completely forgotten everything she's ever learned about being a civilized housedog. Same thing happened for several weeks once Mila had full freedom in the house again after her TPLO. Total knuckheaded brattiness. Hopefully someone will chime in as to why they do that!

Oh, yes. After we took Bo camping for a week, he was a brat when we got home. He howled all night long the first night, forgot how to walk on a leash, forgot how to sit, stay, come, lie down.... It took a couple days (maybe a week) for him to get back to his normal self. It must be that camping brings out their "Call of the Wild" side and they have to be re-domesticated.

My kids go through the same thing, too...but I guess they're more prone to getting away with it because they aren't stealing food from each other. :goofy:
