I dont post here much anymore, but you guys might remember that I posted about my sister getting a puppy a while back. My fears about her being irresponsible with the dog were well founded.
My mother and I had a falling out in October and I haven't spoken with her since. She lives with my sister. Well my sister called for my birthday the other day (we aren't very close), and called tonight to thank us for the gift we sent for her son and to say she was sorry for not sending anything to our kids.
She went on to explain that her puppy got Parvo last month and there was no way she was going to let her son's puppy die. She rushed him into the emergency vet and they treated him. She couldn't afford to pay for around the clock care, but brought home all the meds and IVs. She was by his side, keeping him comfortable and hydrated while the medication did its works.
My sister, who I've never found to be responsible or even particularly mature did everything she could to save her son's puppy--and he made it! She said, "Oh, we used to complain all the time because he would hump his little stuffed bunny, but the first time he did that after he got better, I just cried and cried, I was so happy!"
My good deed? I didn't even say, "I told you so!"
Merry Christmas to everyone from our family!
Waiting on Santa.
