What do y'all do with certificates, ribbons, pins, catalogs, etc? I know nothing about scrapbooks, but don't want to start just stuffing stuff in drawers either ....

Right now they're all together in a binder. However, all show pics are being framed. Jacques wants to have a wall dedicated to Cole. :shuffle:

I am not framing ribbons. Not.

I've seen people do amazing things with ribbons.... wall hangings, quilts (which can't be washed of course), pillows, even pocketbooks!, etc. I am not very "crafty" so have never done anything myself with them. http://www.showthrow.com/strip.html
http://www.endeavorlabradors.com/ribbons.html

Pins are in a "memory box".....I used to have them all on my denim jacket, but it was a royal pain-in-the-bleep taking them off every time I had to wash it!

My favorites are the medallions - the only thing I actually DO anything with....from Awards of Merit, Westminster, and the NCA CH medallions.... I had them framed in groupings. I used different tones in the matting (two shades of gold, and a nice burgundy) and even varied the frames a little (all "antique looking" gold, but 3 diferent styles, all slightly different). The bigger medallions (AOM's, Westminster) are framed alone, the NCA CH medallions are framed in various groups.. maybe by litter or by relationship.....so siblings Dante/Harry/Joy/Gracie/Lexi/Mac medallions are framed together....sibs Jimmy/Jules/Monroe/Colby are framed in another group ...... sibs Pico/Vollas/Dino/Avery in another frame... etc..etc.. I then hung them all on a wall and I do look at them and smile and remember each dog.....

I take all of Ethel's and they are in several Shadow Boxes, along with her AKC Certificates and medalions and other show collectables.

Those are some really nice ideas. I've often wondered what to do with them. Thanks!!!!

We have a large canvas tote with a Newf head on it. We had one side embroidered with the name Marcus and it has his CGC and RN patch on it and the other side is Max with his WD, DD, RN. CGC, TDI patch on it. I use it for shows and training class...it is big enough to hold treats, water bowl, drool rags, our lunch etc. I love having that reminder what we have achieved.

I have a big glass cookie jar that was won at a Regional Specialty that holds all our ribbons. You can see the bright colors through the glass and it makes a nice spot in my office.

Each dog has a large corkboard in the laundry room where all the ribbons, medallions, patches are pinned. The title certificates, Gracie's are all framed, at the moment Nicholas and Evan's are in a folder.

When one dies I put all the ribbons and memorabilia safely packed away in a rubbermaid container, as they hold so many memories. I have all these going back to the first Newf from 1988!!

They look like this, this one was my SophieLab's.

There are some great ideas here!
I haven't done a darn thing with Ebony's and Ross's ribbons. They are tucked safely away from the cats, 'cuz I have a feeling they would be prized cat toys!

I have a huge notebook for each dog divided into different sections, akc registration, health, akc titles, nca titles, etc.

I have scrapbooks but have not put anything into them yet....I need to get going on that for all three dogs. I wanted to include photos etc. so it really is going to be a big project but I'd love to have a big scrapbook of photos, ribbons, pins, medallions etc. for each dog.

At the moment, I place them in shadow boxes and picture frames. I print out the results from the Super's site (Onofrio, etc) and place the printout in the back of the frame behind the photos/ribbons. Some of them have the show information printed out and inserted with the ribbons.

Hi
Back in 78 when I showed my first dog to his championship, I made a shadow box that displayed the ribbons in a circle around a pewter plate that I won from my first dog show. It was wonderfully made at a frame shop so it is really stury, very pretty, and I still have that and it is still up because it reminds me of when I started. Had I only known of all the ribbons to come, maybe I wouldn't have done that. I honor all my medallions I have won too but they are tucked away, I should display them too I guess. The things I don't know what to do with are the plates I've won for regional shows. I have nine of them...if anyone wants one, let me know! They are all the same...the head profiles of the dogs with "Newfoundland Club of America" under it.
