Welcome Sue. I'm so sorry about Rebel. I too lost my Newf, Angus in October and I don't know how I would have coped without the support here and also from the new Newf in our house, Maneen. I think of my lost friend everyday, but Maneen is so loving, he fills up my heart. Sounds like Cassie is meant to be for you too. Again, welcome aboard!

Cassie's Story: Friends of mine, who are into Newf rescue, saw an ad in the paper for a free Newf. Upon calling they found someone had already taken her. She spent 1 day at that home. They couldn't control her so they gave her to their Grandma!
Go Figure! Of course Grama couldn't control her so back to the original owners she went. The people called my friends who went and picked her up. They had her for a while, then found a home but she was returned after 6 months. :( Again, they couldn't control her! After that, my friends decided they would keep her. Now they have 3 dogs and foster numerous dogs at any given time. 2 days after I had to have Rebel put down, I went over to their house to tell them about her. That and I needed a Newfy fix! They told me to come over for a fix any time and I could walk Cassie if I wanted to. That brings me up to the previous letter.
My friends did a really nice thing for us. They had grown to love Cassie too, so it was out of the goodness of their hearts that Cassie came to be a member of our family. It works out really nice though. Cassie and I stop over at their house frequently to visit. So, now she has the security of two homes.
As to the control problem, we're working on that. She pulled alot but I walk her 4 miles a few times a week. That tends to calm her down. She isn't pulling near as much anymore.Barking had been a problem, but it's pretty quiet around here so there's not much going on to trigger any barking. She can be bull headed! OOOhhhh, but so can I!

I'm SO SORRY to hear about ANGUS! :( It's all to fresh in your mind too! As long as they remain in your heart, they are never far away!
