Hi all,
My name is Sue Martin. I'm new to Newf Net. This past Oct. I had to have my beloved Rebel put down. She brought 11 1/2 years of joy to our lives and I miss her terribly! :( After 2 weeks of coming home to an empty house, I couldn't bare it any more so we adopted a 5 year old Newf named Cassie. Cassie doesn't replace Rebel but she sure does help me to not dwell on her. Cassie is sooo different than Rebel. She is adjusting well and we love her already.

OH!!!! It is ALWAYS so hard when our best friend is no longer with us. I'm sure you DO miss her terribly.

Glad to hear you've "filled" the empty house. A house without a dog is like an empty castle, to me.

God bless ya, Sue!

to both you and Cassie

The good that came out of losing Rebel is that I am now persuing getting more involved in Newfy rescue. I have a friend down the road from me who has a Newf named Banker, that he is planning on breeding by summers end. I'm hoping to get one of the pups.
Cassie was used to being around other dogs and will probably enjoy the company!

Welcome aboard!!!

I'm so glad you found us. I'm very sorry to hear about your Rebel.... it's always so very devastating when they leave us to cross the bridge. I think it's great that you found Cassie, and I'm sure that Rebel is smiling down on both of you!

Please post some pictures when you can. If you need any help with that, just holler!!!! :D

Hi All,
Thanks so much for the warm welcome and condolences. It is greatly appreciated. I can't help but get teary eyed every time I write or talk about Rebel. She was such a huge part of my life and will forever be sadly missed!
As a pup, just after naming her, a friend told me that dogs tend to be like their name. The first couple of years this was soooooo true in Rebels case. But time calmed her down and she was loved by everyone who came in contact with her! I think I'll name my next pup Angel! ;)

Welcome to Newf Net. I really enjoy the humor, kindness, support, and so much knowledge about animals (not just Newfies) I find here. I am so sorry about Rebel. It has to be one of the hardest things in the world to lose a pet. A new dog helps because they are all beautifully unique, but the hurt is still there, I know. Again, I am so sorry,

Hi All Again,

Thanks again, it's nice to be able to share with people who know what the loss is like!

I'm working on getting some pictures for you all to see but I don't have a website set up yet. As soon as the expert of the house,(hubby) gets it figured out, I will share them with you! Both Rebel and Cassie!

 Wow! The welcoming here is overwhelming! I'm so glad I found you all. Diane, Jeff & clan: being local, I hope to run into you soon. Maybe some time this spring. I am joining the New Pen Del Newfy Club and plan to attend the events. It amazes me,it really is a small world.
My husband, Terry, and I say, Cassie picked us! After taking her for a walk a few times she started crying when I left and laying by the front door waiting for me to return. The one day I took Banker for a walk, Cassie ran around my vehicle then laid down by the drivers door and waited. When I backed out of the drive that day she was sitting there just looking at me with the saddest eyes I had ever seen. As if to say, "Where Ya Going? Take me with you!" That did it for me! The rest is history!

We're just updating our Internet service. When this is done, I'll definately post pictures!
