I like this forum! I'm not a camera nut like most of you but I do appreciate good photography so I'm really enjoying reading this stuff. Just thought I'd throw this out there.
For managing photos we've found a program called PhotoMechanic to be fantastic. It will pull up contact sheets so you can quickly view and organize your photos. It can handle raw images and links to photoshop to edit photos. You can also fill in information in the fields that STAYS with the photo. You can view photos side-by-side, etc.
We started using it at work because a couple of the photogs we work with suggested it and it has really sped up the process of dealing with the thousands of photos we review each month. Best yet, it's really quite inexpensive and there's no cop on it. We work exclusively with Macs (like all good people do ... Just kidding PC-ers!) but I believe there is a version for PCs as well. www.camerabits.com
