A while back there was a post with a link for life vests for newfs. I can't find the post, I think Lauren had posted it...Does anyone remember the sight?

Not lifevests but overton.com has water ski belts that would fit around their loin area.
i used those for keeping the hinder up when swimming, becouse one of the newfs wanted to have her back feet on the bottom of the lake, to funny, this taught her that it is ok for the hinder to float! LOL
it also supports the oldsters so they can still enjoy the water.

Thanks Sar, I want to get in the water with Boagie, but I figure we both better have the vest for the first few times. Until she figures out how to save me ;)

There's 3 kinds listed here:
http://www.bartswatersports.com/catalog.asp?C=101

I use what SAR uses, ski belt, put right in
front of hind legs which keeps them afloat. Helps until really built up for swimming and if you've got a butte dropper to keep hind end up.
I have one powereful swimmer, Linsey, and Lana starts out well then starts dropping the butte. She's got more fat on her now so she stays up better. She didn't when she was a pupper, kinda lean she was, not much fat, had more problems keeping her butte up.

You can also get vests at earlywinters.com. They size them based on weight and girth. They sell clothing, but also carry items for your pet.

Based upon a thread here, can remember it was about taking your newf int kayak, I did some research on the web. There was a site, of course cannot remember which, that reviewed all the PFDs, Pet Flotation Devices. The ruffwear one was the hands down winner.

I ordered onr for Mudji, as we want to take him on the power boat this summer. It arrived last week, and off to the river we went. It was great, fit well, and in red looks really smart against a black newf.

As with most things newf, it was not inexpensive, but I think well worth money.

Newfmom and I are the ones that Kayak with our newf. We use the ruff wear. Nice fit, great handle and looks comfortable. There are others brands but their large jackets are smaller than the ruffwear by my experience.
