Any updates Tula? I think about this guy often as we have room and desire to add to the family. Wish Cinci wasn't so far away!

He is still with us. Rescue has received several applications - not sure if they are good or not. He is a real sweet heart. I am having some trouble getting him to eat...not sure if he's a little depressed or doesn't like the food????? I did tempt him with some pot roast this evening:) Kim

Kim,
Sending you an email with a sure fire food he will eat. Just mix in with his regular food and if their is no medical reason for him turning away food, he will eat it.
I used it when Lola had that bad ear infection. She had a fever of 104 and had lost 10 pounds, then I found this

Thanks. We are taking him to vet this morning to rule out ear infections, or anything else. I worry when they won't eat:( Kim

Not sure if I should put his vet update here, or under Maladies? Since he is a rescue, I'll post here - I apologize if this is the wrong place. Well, poor guy was dehydrated! He has a relapse of his upper respiratory illness. Apparently as he felt unwell, he stopped eating, drinking and hid under shrubs. I noticed his eye looked quite odd last night, worse this morning. The dehydration was causing it to sink into his socket. He received subcutaneous fluids, long lasting antibiotic injection , and we came home with oral antibiotics and a cough suppressant. I feel terrible about this. Now we know what to look for when he feels unwell.....such a sensitive soul. Kim

Galleo , who we called Max, was adopted today! He is going to be living in Newf Jersey with a terrific family...they have two daughters 2 and 5 years old. They've had two previous newfs, lost at young ages, due to cancer and kidney failure. I've given them NN info - so hopefully they'll show up here:) I miss him, but am VERY happy for him! Kim

Manchester, NJ. I think it is in southern Jersey. They said they live about 15 minutes from the beach. Kim

Galleo/Max

Just a quick update on Galleo/Max......we kept his name - Max. We (family of 4) had a great little road trip (650 miles) out to Cincinnati to meet and adopt Max. We were very impressed with LLROC and the terrific foster situation he was in (with Kim & Bill). He been excellent in every regard over the first week and a half. Vet check was flawless and has been such a sweetheart with our two little girls. He's active and eating very well.......seemed to adjust to home within minutes. We lost our Kai (4 yr old landseer) a month ago and Max has been very welcomed addition to our family. It must have been meant to be......

ps.....he was "dressed up" for halloween (my wife's idea, not mine...carrying around the headless horseman - haha...) and gladly escorted out two girls around the neighborhood as the trick-or-treated!
