Just A Clarification

I have had some inquiries about Newf Friends Rescue adoption policies outside Ontario, specifically our American neighbors to the south. :sunflower:

This is our official policy

"Newf Friends Newfoundland Dog Rescue is a foster home based rescue group operating in Ontario, Canada. We place dogs into carefully screened homes in Ontario and parts of neighbouring States, within a days drive. If you are outside of our area visit the Newf Rescue listings for Canada or the Newf Club of America Rescue Listing to find a rescue near you."

However, depending on circumstances exceptions have been made and dogs placed further. Many of our Newfs have become dual citizens. :whistling: It's all about finding the perfect home, and not about borders.

Thanks for the info. I will keep this in mind the next time I am looking to adopt a Newf. I am just allowed one dog at a time where I live and hopefully Calza will be around for a while. She is a REALLY "young" 8.

I have gone to your rescue page before and have seen dogs that I have thought would be a good fit...

Yep, my friends who do Basset Rescue only do the general area, but like any good rule, rules are meant to be broken. One adoption went to AZ...but then they knew the folks. The problem was getting him there and that took several months to bring off after he was adopted, so he stayed with my friend who fostered him.
