It seems I've only come in here the last few times to post or read sad news. I am sorry for that.

IrishMist428, Patty Weldon, passed away on Sunday. She was a long time member here, and an asset in the Newfoundland community. Over the years she had 3 of her own newfs, Akira, Brogan and Chance, and she was a foster to many more. She was member of the Long Island Newfoundland community, active in newf rescue, was an amazing resource for new newf owners who sometimes are easily overcome by the grooming, training, or just newfness of their new puppies/dogs, and most importantly she was an amazing friend.

I will miss you dear friend. RIP.

*I do not know any of the details of her passing so please do not ask. I am hoping to find out when the services will be and will post if there is anyone local who knew her and would like to attend.

OH My. Has she been sick? The first picture was taken at my place when she adopted Chance from rescue. She was an amazing person.

That is such sad news. Many years ago she sent me some joint pills for my Newfs and we communicated on a fairly regular basis.
Please post more when you know anything. I hope she didn't suffer.

I remember her. I am so sorry to hear this. She did a lot for so many. Please tell her family we are thinking of them.

I'm not sure Jeannie. Details have been very scarce. I thought that picture was from your place. I recognized the structure in the background.

Yes...Patty did pass away on Sunday morning. She and I were very close. She was one of the most loving, caring, giving, gentle people I ever met. We lived close by. My newfs and her newfs spent great times together.
I am as shocked as everyone else. I am at a loss. I am going to miss her so much. All she cared about was Newfs!! She took great care of her Newfs, and like most of us, put them before herself. I only met her in 2005 but felt like I knew her for my whole life.
