In between Newfies..

So while we wait for our next puppy, we've been reflecting on the our last Newf. One thing I mentioned to my wife the other night was that our boy Bear was just the absolute perfect dog in every way, and that whatever we did right, we need to recall and replay it back for our next Newf. We realized however that we didn't do anything special at all. He was just awesome! He was passionate about his mom, he was easy to train, he was respectful of things that weren't his, and loved all kinds of people and animals.

Anyway, we can't wait to meet our new puppy Pepper and her adventures that await us.

If that's Bear in your Avatar, he was a very handsome boy. I'm sorry for your loss, but it sounds like he had a wonderful loving home and happy life.

Can't wait to see the pics of the new baby!

I'm sorry you lost your handsome Bear. Congratulations on your new addition, Pepper. My Newfs have taught me that they are all perfect... in their somewhat imperfect way.

We are on our third newfie and each one of them is totally unique. But, I have to say that Bosun, our 7 month old, is probably the best behaved and has the best temperament of them all. You will probably just naturally do the same things with your new pup as you did with your former one, and he or she will turn out wonderful! After 14 years of having Newfs, I am still amazed at how great this breed is. Congratulations on getting another puppy and enjoy them when they are young. Like kids, the time goes by so fast.
