I'm really frightened

Hopefully, you've gotten hold of the Vet by now. I certainly wouldn't wait until his appointment later in the week if he's getting so much worse!

Lyme disease is just awful around here. 25% of our dogs have had it...we know it when we see it now. Probably 25% of people here have had it too.

Have the Vet test for LYME and ERLICHIOSIS. They'll sometimes get both at the same time...

If you catch it soon enough, antibiotics and anti-anflammatories will make him feel better in no time...however, he'll need to be on the drugs for about a month to make sure it's gone.

Hopefully, you've got some better insight about what's going on today...please keep us informed!

Wondering how he is doing today? I'm thinking that if he's deteriorated so quickly in a couple of days, that he may have pinched a nerve in his back. Has he played rough with another dog or kid, or maybe slipped on a hard surfaced floor or ice? I'm wondering if he's torqued his back somehow. It also sounds a lot like our Maggie's symptoms, and she's got severe hip displasia in both hips...but she didn't deteriorate all at once like that...it was more gradual.

Please let us know what your vet says.

I am also hoping that everything is OK. On some days, it seemed that my puppy (who has severe hip dysplasia)got worse hourly due to inflammation (especially later in the day). She also started showing signs and symptoms around 4 mo of age. It's so frustrating when you do everything right when you get your dog- From day 1 with her, I used lower protein food,Springtime supplements, and vitamins. Her parents were also both certified... yet, she has bilateral advanced hip dysplasia by 7 months
. We all just have to realize that life's challenges shouldn't be stumbling blocks but stepping stones. Anyway, hang in there, I remember the people from this forum were a godsend when my pup was seeing vet to vet in order to get a more accurate plan of care for her. Please keep us updated!

Very good point. I saw her lurking very early this morning... I was hoping she'd post.... but she didn't. I'm really concerned for her and her baby....

Annie,
Do you have any way of accessing her email addy?
If so, can you email her to tell her we're really concerned to hear what's happening?

I just read through this thread and am heartbroken. Has anyone heard any news? My two are the same age and I can't imagine the pain and anxiety
