I'm back!

Hi All~

I have been gone for several years, but I finally figured out what my password was, and here I am! I recognize some old friends! It's great to see the forum going strong!

Our last newf (Angel) passed away 4 years ago on Jan 15, and I told my husband it was his turn to pick our next dog and he chose a Mastiff! Zita is a great girl and I adore her....but....well you know....I think newfs are my "soul dog". I have been yearning for one for a while now. I have shown Zita in conformation and she has earned her Grand Champion, so I think we're gonna try some Rally and hopefully some draft work. She skijors, and had a 14 minute mile at the last Dog Sled race! Not very fast I know, she thought it was a Sunday stroll....
But Zita could use a buddy and I think it should be a newf!
And don't let anybody tell you there's less hair with a "wash & wear" dog! We're still overworking our vacuum cleaner!

Welcome back & it's nice to meet you! I have to agree with you, we have had Danes in the past and that short little hair gets everywhere! I think it is actually stickier and harder to get off than the Newfie hair. But Suki is only 8 months and hasn't gone through a real coat blow out yet.

Hi from Montana Noreene,
Good to "see" you again. My Gracie passed away nearly 7 months ago. A hard time to get through, but we have some help with our new addition Misha. Just posted some new pics of her yesterday. Zita is beautiful I hope you get your Newfie-they are indeed, a special breed

Elizabeth, I am sorry about Gracie. I thought about you two when I checked back in. I was going to go look in the memorial area, but it just kills me to read those. I am so glad you got another newf. Give Misha a kiss for me.
