First of all I have to tell you, I've been offline again, cause my computer got sick! It's been in the 'shop' and is back all fixed, so now I have to try and catch up with all of the postings.
Anyway, we were at the doctors yesterday and after a lot of being, very persistent but polite, (He tried to tell us we had to stay in our area for treatment, but I showed him my A4 list and named at least 4 hospitals with short waiting lists,) he agreed to write to one of the Glasgow hospitals with a 4/6 week waiting list, rather than 6 months.
I also felt he was taking us a bit more seriously, after I mentioned some of the consequences of not being seen, sooner rather than later.
He assured me that he had prescribed tablets for John that were the very latest on the market and that the NHS (National Health Service) didn't like them being prescribed, because they were so expensive.
He (the doc.) told me not to get depressed or worried about this, because he would do his utmost, to make sure that John would not lose any part of his limbs and he quoted over and over that amputation was not going to happen.
I felt much better about everything, because the doc. knew I had been reading up on the disease and said that it was a good thing to know more but to be careful not to always read the bad bits and forget the good outcomes.
Once again, I feel Newf Net prayers were at work again and helping us to "beat the odds." A great big thanks to all of you and I will keep you up to date when the next instalment happens.
