When we built the kennel, we put in an elevated bathtub for bathing the dogs (edge of tub is at countertop height) and since most of our beardies were between 40-55lbs, I could just lift them up in to the tub. But, Ozzie the newf is now a little over 11 months old and 106 lbs and his dad is 175lbs so...how to get HIM in the tub?
As some of our beardies got older, they had trouble getting up in to their cages, which were double stacked since we had so many dogs and we always feed in the cages, so I built a set of lightweight steps out of 4" styrofoam and covered them with indoor/outdoor carpeting. They were great for getting in to a cage that was about 26" off the ground. So I decided to utilize them and added one more 4" piece of foam, double stacked to add 8" to the steps. I put them in front of the tub and Oz, being a water lover, climbed right up in to it this morning, sniffed around the tub, realized he wasn't getting a bath and climbed right back out again. Now I have to find some more carpet to cover the rest of it.
