can Hannah's ears stay?

OMG Harley chews on her ears ALL THE TIME she lays there and lets him do it..

she sits up and she has these two sodden dark lumps on either side of her head where her lovely floppy lab/pit ears should be...

I hope this is a passing stage...

Baloo gnaws on Milo like he's a chew toy! Mile gnaws on Baloo. I spend most of the day telling them to quit it. If you find the answer let me know....

Scarlett (lab) cleans everybody's ears. Moonlight gets Scarlett by the scruff of the neck or collar and pulls her around. I know this is not good, so we get after her. Then Scarlett will run back to Moonlight for more. What's a mother to do?

we have scruff dragging too.

but the funny thing is:

Hannah will run to the bottom of the steps to wait for Harley and when he gets down there she jumps up and grabs his head with her front paws and "humps' him. She did this with my last dog and he just stood there and took it... Harley does not like it and will FREEZE on the steps. HE's TWICE her size... oy.

he does grab her by her scruff and throw her around the yard a bit.

she runs back and bites his paws...

We get scruff pulling which can turn into chasing each other around the living room which will then go to grabbing and tugging on a tail, which then goes back to scruff pulling and it starts all over again until we tell them to stop or take it outside.

LoL! I'm glad I'm not the only one with an ear cleaner! I was starting to think there was something wrong with my dogs...I can imagine another trip to the vet "I think there is wrong with the bulldogs ears, the newf keeps cleaning them..." (I am blonde, by the way...it happens sometimes)

THE 'HUMPING' IS GENERALLY A DOMINANCE THING, BUT IF NOT LIKED BY OTHER PARTY TRY TO DISTRACT THEM FROM IT, AS TO CLEANING EARS WE HAVE GRANDMA mADDY THE jACK RUSSELL WHO GOES AROUND THE OTHER THREE TO MAKE SURE THEY MEET HER EXACTING STANDARDS OF CLEANLINESS

Yeah I know it's dominance and Hannah is a right dominant Bitch and always has been.
but is turn about fair play. He gets in the yard and he humps her.. most times she gets away but sometimes she takes it...

i don't like humping and I make them stop.

but going down the steps is comical as he hides behind me if she's waiting at the bottom for him.

visual of Harley hiding behind mum gave me a laugh , sometimes their cleaning ears is a social thing , helps with bonding . I did find some info but system crashed before I could download but will try again. Glad they're both getting on great now though. any luck with poop problem and has the crypto gone now?

Husker had a strange habit relating to his ears that started about 3 months ago. He doesn't do it as often now...

Husker would come up to me or Terry and shove his head between our knees and start shaking his head. We wondered what it was all about until until we'd see him pop up his head with his own ear in the corner of his mouth.

*sings...do you ears hang low? do they wobble to and fro?*

He is also the only dog we know that can catch his tail in his mouth and then actually walk through the house with it still in his mouth...he has to walk sort of sideways though, quite the goofy spectacle!

he hides behind me and puts his head down just under my butt and pushes me down the steps...

I'm not sure this is CLEANING... it's more like chomping... i dont' see a lot of licking, i see a lot of MOUTHING. and blessedly harley has a very soft mouth.

Out two tom cats clean each others' ears - it's quite amusing! When one stops, I'll urge him on "aw, clean his ears!' and they'll resume ... until the paws start flying!
