What's happening here? Moya is doing really well with the houstraining but she goes through these spurts...She ahs been pretty good for awhile with 5 out of 7 days having no accidents. But the past three days she has had 2 and 3 a day. Just today, for example, she was in her crate for 4 hours while I was at work. No accident. Took her right out when I got home and she went. One hour later she peed on the foyer floor (she was making the signs that she had to go but I didn't pick it up because she had just been out). I took her out to see if she had to go more but she didn't. Twenty minutes later she went on the bathroom rug. Good grief! Do all dogs go through set backs like this? She's just 4 months old now.

P/S The bathroom floor was actually kind of funny because my daughter and i were both on the toilet at the time. Sorry if that's TMI.

When housebreaking a pup, I always live by the old saying, "Two steps forward, and one step back". Just when it seems like they are finally getting the idea, then one day, they just seem to forget. It is amazing, though, how they will just go, then go again a few minutes later. Maybe she is missing you in the day, now that you are back to work, so maybe they are not all accidents. I guess you will have to heed the signs she is giving you that she has to go out, even though she has just been out. She has been through a lot lately, and now you are working, so I guess you will have to give her a chance to adjust.

I agree with "two steps forward, one step back" sentiment. Bear is 7 months old now and I thought he had it down pat. Then just the other day we were busy hanging a new light in our bedroom, I turn around and this clown is peeing on my living room carpet !! First time in a LONG, LONG time, but there he was  I just had to go back to if he is standing at the door even looking like he wants out, out he goes ! Those puppy puddles aren't so little anymore !!

We had an 'accident' a couple weeks ago too. After a long time of being great, Bubba just stood at the door, barked once and peed.
Then last night, the total opposite. It was absolutely pouring rain out. Thunder, lightning, and of course he goes to the door and barks. No way buddy! (We don't have a fenced yard, so I always go out with him). I gave the down command, he actually listened, and waited for 1/2 hr. until it let up enough I wouldn't drown if I went out. At this point, he wasn't whining or anything, but we went out anyway and he dutifully did his business. :D Go figure!
