Holistic Vets in N. Suburbs of Chicago

I live in the far North suburbs of Chicago. Does anyone have any recommendations for a holistic vet in the general area? My pup is currently seeing a regular vet and while he is supportive of a raw diet, I am not sure how supportive he will be of running titers/not vaccinating unless needed.
Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Shawn - I personally go to Dr. Becker in Tinley Park for holistic/homeopathic care - I do think that would be a bit far for you... and I don't believe she's taking new patients.

But - if you don't mind heading to the west side of the city and you're looking for holistic support and care - I would definitely recommend Dr. Julie Mayer - She is a graduate of Univ. of Illinois, certified in acupuncture, chiropractic, herbs.....website is http://www.integrativepetcare.com/ ....I have MANY many friends and customers who go to her for chiropractic, acupuncture and advice on using herbs and other non traditional methods...with her degree from U of I and everything else she is a well rounded souce of info and advice. She feeds her dogs raw ... and I know she's into chinese medicine for herself.... and she is a nice person too! :)

There is another one out west in Barrington and some a little further southwest - if you're interested - let me know!

Karen,
Thanks for your help. I wasn't joking when I said FAR North Suburbs.
The hospital in Wisconsin is only 25 miles from my house. Got to love Yahoo Maps!

Thanks again for the info!

Dr. Becker is just fantastic - and I really believe she makes a difference - especially in the tougher cases.... Leslie goes to her too I and I'm sure will say the same...

I do think right now I had heard that she may not be taking any new patients - but... when I first was trying to get in to her it was the same - took a few months... you just need to keep calling until you get in... she's worth the wait!!

Dr. Becker is "technically" not taking new patients but will take cases based on severity. She truly is wonderful. Just look what she's done with Bailey. But she's busy as all get out. Her office does have an excellent list of people she refers to so you may want to contact Linda, her receptionist. Her temporary office is so small, we can't have both newfs in the waiting room at the same time (that is unless no one wants to move at all!)

I agree with all the suggestions written. Dr. Becker was to see Oji right before he went to the bridge. I do know that the Healing Oasis has had good reports as well. Just my two cents worth.
