Sounds like a uruinary tract infection to me. Has your vet done a culture and sensativity test? The sensativity test will tell your vet what AB to use on that particular strain of bacteria. It sounds like they are just shooting in the dark and not using the correct AB for that particular bacteria. One time my Lilly got a UTI while in the hospital (caused from the catheter) and it was a very resistant of bacteria. She had to be treated with 50 cc's of Amakacin and 1 ltr of sub-c fluids. That was not cheap either.

glad you baby is feeling better. any woman who has ever had a yeast infection will tell you it is not fun. I don't blame her for scratching on the grass. I can't say the same though didn't occur to me when going through similar things!

Females can have issues that crop up when in heat.
This girl sounds like the typical newf pup that although big in body they do have potty issues sometimes becouse they drink to much water! They LOVE water, and they should have access to it.
They also need the hair shaved down there every 2 - 3 months ESP if they have an inverted pee pee.
White blood cells can be an infection, i do not understand the antifungal part. I think you need to find a vet who is recomended by NEWFIE people and really knows the breed. Given time to grow sometimes the pee pee will not be so inverted.
Vaginitus is VERY common in young newfs.
Janices hit this one right on....
"

Have her checked for a vaginal stricture. "

I would suspect that way at the top of the list. I see she is better now but this is good info for anyone with a youngster.

This vet was actually recommended to me from a newfoundland rescue that is in ohio and I live in louisville kentucky. Hers was a fungal infection, that is why she got an antifungal. Antibiotics would take care of a bacterial infection.
