Help,I got carried away with trimmin Baloo's ears!

I trimmed behind Baloo's ears yesterday--he had a lot of new growth in the actual ear. I put some cotton ball in his ear to black his ear canal and trimmed up the excess hair with my good clippers. It looked really good, and he didn't move around, everything seemed fine. We were horsing around today and all of the sudden he stopped and started scratching his ear until he cried out. So I comforted him and I waited a while for the redness to go down and rechecked it later. It looks razor burned, I feel awful! What could I put on there to soothe that so he doesn't keep picking at it and make it get infected! I was wondering about triple anitbiotic cream?

Aloe Vera gel? That's what I use after I wax my eyebrows, it helps the swelling and redness and is soothing, especially if its cool. I like to keep the bottle in the fridge.

I think triple antibiotic cream would be fine. Never heard of using aloe vera gel on a dog?

Me too. I'm pretty fair and burn easily.
