height question

[Honey Bear]

Forgive me guys, but Bindi is my very first Newf and I was wondering if she will get taller.(she is really long) She just turned 11 months yesterday.
I am expecting her to get wider in time, but in the height dept, I am totally clueless.
She just got through with her first heat cycle..(plan on spaying her in the near future)

She could possibly get an inch taller. Once she fills out (which takes a while...usually they're much more newf-like at 3-4 yrs old LOL), she won't look so long and lanky.

Newfs grow and fill out slowly. She's still very young. Be patient! Mira looked like a long haired Lab at 11 mos! LOL

Avlon (female) is 3 and measures 29 inches from top of shoulder to bottom of paws. She is tall for a Newf, at least that's what people tell me.

Once they hit a year old, they don't get much taller, maybe a inch or so. Whatever their proportion (length vs height) is from the time they are puppies that usually doesn't change much as they get older. If she is long in the back now she probably will always be long in the back.

Most start to fill out at at about 18 months. They will fill out slowly for many months. Filling out does not mean putting weight on. Their weight should only increase slightly as they fill out. What you will see is their chest will drop and expand. They shouldn't get "wide".

Bär grew 3 inches since he turned one. He is 18 months & 150 pounds now. I don't think we will know how big he gets until he is done growing. For a while I thought he stopped growing, then he started again. He is very long too.

It's interesting watching them grow and wondering when it will ever stop :lol: Louie is almost 11 months old also. He is 28" at the shoulder which I believe is the height of the avg male Newf. Katie, our 2 year old, is also 28"...a tall girl.
