My husband is out of town so it's just me and my daughter for Mother's Day today. We're starting with Church, then finishing distribution of some flyers for an event in the city I'm in charge of next weekend.
I'm going to bribe her with a promise of a bike ride afterwards to get her to cooperate while we drive around and stuff mailboxes.
At least the weather's cleared up so I can actually promise this!

Char already gave me my big Mother's Day present at my choir dinner on Thursday night. She sang a little song about how much she loved her mom, and her mom is the best mom in the world, ad naseum. It was so sweet. Of course then she followed it up with one little Ditty about how she loves to go to Church because it is quiet, and sometimes she can fall to sleep. At least my pastor got a good laugh out of it!

Happy Mother's Day everyone!! Ina you are so right, I was also thinking about that there are lots of Newfie Moms here too, and moms to other kinds of furry kids. So Happy Mother's Day to all!!

We are going to church, Anna is an alter server and today is her day to serve, which is a little gift all in itself. I love watching her serve! Then it's off to Jamie's side of the family where we will see his grandma, who I have always adored and even moreso now that my own grandmother is gone. Then it's off to my aunt's house (the one with the secret recipes).

Happy mothers day to everyone. My plans for the day are pretty regular. I woke up and got my mothers day gift form my hubby (the first one.. ) (it's a baby footprint making kit which I will do next week when Kayla turns 6 months) for the rest of the day, I plan on taking it easy and maybe heading out to the gym at some point.

Well, in spite of feeling lousy for three weeks now my husband has big plans. Our pet sitter and general helper (kind of an adopted daughter) and her son are coming, along with another woman who is by herself. He's making his world famous creamed style corn (someday I'll get him to market it) and doing a roast chicken on the spit.

The corn is a really big deal since you have to split all the kernels and then scrape out the meat leaving the hard husk behind. It takes 3 ears per person so with 5 of us you can contemplate the work. But oh boy is it ever good, nothing at all like the canned stuff. He did some for an office party one time and found his secretary licking the pot. LOL

I had cards from all the dogs this morning, as well as him. He's a BIG card person so they are all decorating the fireplace mantel. Hopefully he will be OK and it will be a good day.

Happy Mothers Day to all!! After the usual Sunday chores (laundry, vacuuming, etc.) its off to Moms for backyard bbq!! Just me and my girls (and the boys too), Hubby is at work.

I, too, agree with Ina. All we women are mothers to someone in some way. Happy Mothers Day to all. I am going to my son's to grill out. Emmie Lou, I hope your husband remains feeling well and up to the task. The corn sounds absolutely wonderful!! This is my daughter's very favorite dish! How very sweet it is to hear all the kind things being done for one another. The gift of time to enjoy one another is so precious, isn't it?!

Happy Mother's Day! I'm off to work an evening shift in the NICU. I figured I would work extra so some of my co workers with small children could enjoy some time with their little ones. My boys are not home yet...away at college still. Time goes by sooo very fast....

We met our youngest daughter for a picnic in our beautiful county park and both boys had long walkies and a nice swim as well as many adoring fans...perfect!
