Ursa made it to 12!
We've had her since she was 9 weeks old when she came to us as a free puppy. She was born 10 of 12 and the last two didn't survive. She didn't get all the newfy looks but she sure got the heart and soul. Born with a stubby tail and short hair she is often called a lab/rottie mix but we know she is all newf.
I never expected that little puppy to make 12! Especially once she was dx with a sarcoma a month after turning 10. We opted not to do surgery since it meant amputation her right front leg to have the best chance of getting all the cancer. Not a good prospect for surgery anyway with LP we decided to enjoy the time we had left never expecting it would be counted in years.
Ursa still does stairs daily, sasses when she wants something and keeps the younger two in line. She plays at times, and her favorite spot is beside me on the couch with her head in my lap. She's spoiled as can be these days and we count every day we have her with us as blessed.
The winter with up and down temps was harder this year with her LP but the tumor still doesn't affect her mobility. She still will run and jump around the yard and gets up on her own well. I'm hoping for 13 but know that is a real stretch at the same time.
