Grooming Table Question

Kootch,

I don't know the first thing about this but I did check out the page that Jeannie recommened to Bridget in the "Hey Jeannie" post and here is what it said regarding grooming tables: "I like a regular grooming table, 48 inches by 24 inches, whose legs have been shortened so that it is only about 26 inches tall. "

The site page is: http://www.kaylar.com/Newf_Grooming.html

Hope this helps.

For Christmas this year, my dad built me a grooming table. It's not at all portable (heavy oak) but seems to be working well. The legs are detachable and approximately 1 foot long. I'm thinking about having him make me some that are slightly taller, but I think 2 feet will be just about right. Starting with the table worked well for me, though. Morgan is pretty hesitant about trying new things and at first wouldn't even get up on it unless one side was pushed against the wall. Now she's doing better and will let me pull it away from the wall. My dad also added some no-slip bathtub stickers. I'll try to remember to take a picture of it when I get home tonight and post it in the photos forum.

Kootch,
We were just having the same discussion here at our house this morning. Collapsable legs are available, as is the 3/4" plywood, then there is the grooming neck to purchase, the noose, and the finishing of the plywood to make it waterproof and non skid.

Based on the effort involved, and looking at the cost of various tables, we have decided to purchase one. We found in the catalogue they ranged in price from about 100.00 USD to about 200.00 Given all the projects that are in the pipeline here, I might be ordering one this week, once I get more opinions from those on newf-l and here.
