I've read these 2 books and thought they did a nice job introducing the breed. It'll be great to have them as references and I would recommend them to anyone who is deciding on whether or not a Newf is the right breed for them.

The Newfoundland: Gentle Giant by Jo Ann Riley
Newfoundland by Angela Barlowe

This following book is just awesome! It's for anyone that has a dog. It talks about communication between humans and dogs. I can't say enough great things about it!

Tales of Two Species by Patricia B. MCConnell, Ph.D.

Have you read Judi Adler's book "The Newfoundland Puppy Early Care Early Training". Ms. Adler has also written books on water training and tracking for Newfs.

They are available thru www.sweetbay.com

Her Early Care Book was my bible for the 1st 18 months.

That is the next book on my "Books to Read Before Getting a Newf" List. :) I've read some amazing reviews on it. It'll be the 2nd best reference for Newfs; #1-Newf Net! :goofy:
