I also saw that a couple of weeks ago. I had no idea. I'm sure Jackson will be fine Sunny.

Oh yes....and you can also read about this by doing a search. TerriW just posted something about that a couple of weeks ago.

Perhaps this will make you feel a little more at ease. When we first got a previous Newf, his breeder was a "pioneer" in raw feeding. She would only sell us the dog if we agreed in writing that we would feed raw per her instructions.

One of the fruits she wanted us to feed was grapes. So we fed him grapes pretty much every single day for 10 years. And not just a few grapes, 15-20 at a time. Red grapes, green grapes, etc. We also fed them to him as treats.

Of course raw feeding has come a long way since then. Now we use a lot of dehydrated products, but they also contain grapes.

Food for thought.

I am not concerned about Jackson having had a few grapes today. I am sure he is fine. I just thought it would be helpful for others to know. I was not aware someone had already posted about this. it is just like chocolate I am sure not good but a few little chips will not be toxic. Like I said it was just supposed to be an FYI. But thank you for all your kind words.

Every breeders puppy packet should contain the "Grapes and Raisins are Toxic" flyer. How many little kids walk around with boxes of raisins...mine did.....Jule

Gracie ate an entire loaf of raisin bread when we were out this past summer. I'm sure it didn't taste so good coming back up at the vets!
Research seems to say that not every dog will have a bad reaction, but I can say that a few years ago my brothers dog became seriously ill, they didn't know if she'd make it, and the only thing they could think of was the grapes that their little girls ate and probably gave, to the pooch.

I use ot give Snuffles a grape or two when I use to walk him for the neighbor, but reading about grapes here a lond time ago, and seeing the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center site I sure don't now!
