Good Girl!

I wanted to come to NewfNet to share one of Koda's successes. She is still a baby girl, so we do have other problem areas but I wanted everybody to know that she is a crate pro now! For some time, I thought the yowling would never end. This past month, she has been amazing. We have given her the nickname of "Turkey Queen," because every time we put her in the crate she gets cold cuts :) I know a bunch of people on here have younger puppies than Koda(she turns 1 on July 30th!) and I was wondering what successes you have had. I know raising a puppy is hard but if you look at the positives, you will realize how far your girl or boy has come.

Also, why not put a picture in here? Here is a picture I took about a week ago:

Aww, there's Koda! We need more pics of her! Huge congrats on the breakthrough! If I had to pick, I have 2 favorite successes:

1: Mila being trusted to sleep freely in the house for the past 5 months (well, except for now she's confined because of the surgery), without incident!

2: I've taught Mila what toys are hers, and which are Rowan's and she's not allowed to touch them. A couple of months ago a ton of Rowan's toys were on the floor. I mean, they were all over the place and Mila ambled into the living room, walked through and scanned over the sea of goodies and plucked out the one and only dog toy in the mix and walked off with it in her mouth! That was a great moment...wish I caught it on tape!

This should be a fun thread!

Way to go Koda!!!

Last night Maggie was sleeping in the foyer. With a pair of shoes. That weren't in her mouth!!!!:icon_bb::icon_bb::icon_bb: She hasn't chewed a pair of shoes in months!

ETA: She's laying on the couch watching Ashton play her Wii. I just had to take a glob of paper out of her mouth that she was hiding in her jowls. Baby steps, people, baby steps.

Poor Bo has to listen to two humans always talking his ear off and giving commands...in the garden a couple weeks ago, after only about 3 weeks of being 'our' pup, I told Bo to 'stay' at the edge of the veggie patch while I watered tomatoes. He sat there until his Papa walked toward the house. Papa said, 'Let's go, Bo,' but Bo hadn't been released from his 'stay' yet, so he looked to me (Mama) before he went after Papa and stayed in his sit position. As soon as I said 'okay, go ahead' he got up and followed Pops inside. What a good little doggie!

This is why I love this breed so much. They are so-o-o-o smart! Love to hear stories like this.

Nelly, at 6 months is a pro at "crate" command. Tonight, she went in by herself and wouldn't leave when I wanted to take her out for a last bathroom brake.

Love the success stories! I can't remember any puppy antics from Mags and Lucy. They were perfect angels, always! ;) Maybe I have "puppy amnesia", too!
