Spoke with the manager of the Comfort Inn in Piqua about 25 minutes away. Nice lady. She has five rooms available now and is going to see if she can block off about 30 rooms for us or close to it. She knows what Newfs are and says they are welcome. They must be created and flea free.

If you want one of these rooms please let me know today as soon as possible. She is going to call back later this afternoon.

Hey why dont you guys put these threads in gads new section or they will get buried in time i fear!!!!
thanx for the effort!

Count me in for the Comfort Inn. I'll cancel the other ones that I made. I'd rather stay at a chain that I'll have a confirmation number on instead of an "ok, we have you in" (I'm staying Friday and Saturday night.)

Ok hear goes. The Senoir sales manager of the Comfort Inn in Piqua has blocked off 30 rooms for us. Our dogs are allowed.

There will be waste cans in the back for dog poop disposal.
Dogs should be flea free and crated if left alone

When you call, you are with the Newfoundland Workshop.

Room Rates: $82.95 per night
Animal Deposite: $25.00 per animal. Refundable.
Reservation Desk: 937 778-8100 with credit card
Dates: July 23 - 25
We need to reserve pretty much now.

The comfort Inn is attached to the Miami Valley Mall. Plenty of parking and trailers are ok.
A few restuarnts and great fruit smoothie place
Rt. 36 takes you right to greenville, about 30 min. away. Not to bad. Thats where we are staying.

I hope this helps guys.

Thanks Annie.

What about T-Shirts? We should get a count around the end of May on who is definately going to be there so we can have some done. I guess you will know this from the reg. forms. Also Annie, when and where should we start sending our monetary contributions for the different workshops and the tent and caterer ect. Can you start a topic with this info and list it when you know more? And I guess a topic for volunteer duty sign up for the different events so we will know who is helping out with which event. A calander of events is what we really need, with dates and times for the differnt events so everything flows smoothly with all of the crazy fun we are going to be having. I know you know all of this Annie, forgive me. I'm just thrilled.

Pm me so I can lend you a helping hand, while Jeannie's computer is down.

You're not confused Giddy. The Hotel is for those who don't want to camp. For those who do, Jeannie has that set up. So we're all covered.

Sorry I have not been on line, my computer bit the dust so I came to my daughter's to use her's. Piqua is about 34-40 mintues from me. The Comfort Inn is on the other side of Piqua, connected to the mall. Just to you know the distance. Great that you did this

Are most of you planning on staying Sunday night or leaving out on Sunday for home?

I don't want to miss any activities on Sunday because I have to drive home..... :D

I have a 12 hr ride so I will be arriving Thurs night and leaving Mon morning. I am staying at the Ambassador. Its cheap and I really don't care what it looks like since we will not be spening much time in the room.

MIght I suggest that all you who are staying in a hotel that does not normally take dogs make sure that the rooms are cleaner than when you arrived. In arranging hotels for the christmas parade in Savannah, the first year was critical in convincing the hotel that newfs are worthy dogs to have stay there. We had to prove ourselves in the first years of the parade in order to gain the confidence of the management.

Now, we all know that our newfs will not do damage as other breeds can do, but put your best foots forward if you want this to be an annual event. Make sure you pick up all presents left by our 4 legged kids, etc.

Just some thoughts....

We've made reservations for Fri/sat/Sun nights, and will leave Monday morning for home. Maggie newfie will be with us.

Now...what can I do to help?? I have a Publisher program, and Access, which is great for data-bases. Anything else I can do from afar?? Just let me know.
